Journal Entry 2 : BORN TO BE HERE

    Among the occasions that affect one's life considerably, deciding for an eligible university to continue the education for a better future is of great importance. Being a member of METU is a milestone in my life. Even though I have never thought of being a student at METU until the time came to choose which university to go, I ,now, comprehend that it can be the most successful decision that I have ever made. METU managed to meet all my expectations.There are many advantages of being a METU student. Here you can read some of them. Firstly, the society in which one can think and express himself/herself freely is one of the distinctive features of METU. A student can feel the self-confidence which the free thinking environment brings to the individual as soon as he/she starts his/her life at the university. In my opinion, this is the most distinguishing part of being at METU. Secondly, having the chance to meet new and different people at any moment is among the things which makes METU an attractive place. This is such an important feature that it helps me find the power to go to the school every day enthusiastically. Thirdly, facilities at METU are limitless.Even the sport clubs the names of which I did not hear exist here. Another facility is the downtown region at METU.One could survive for a long time without getting out of the campus thanks to this place, and our lovely campus vitalizes us with its matchless nature despite the mismash of Ankara. The last but not the least favourable feature of METU is its fame for  high academical success and the dignity that is gained by being a member of this university. This situation makes most of the students feel comfortable about their career, because METU students are always privileged both for themselves and the other people.We can say that we predominate others in terms of building a successful career and making our dreams come true.To sum up, though being a METU student has some difficulties, positive aspects of it outnumber the negatives to a large extent and many unexplored moments are waiting to be enjoyed and remembered throughout our lives.  I am delighted to be here !
